The South West Neonatal Network are delighted to be collaborating with Children’s Hospice South West to run 2 neonatal palliative care study days.
This free in person study day is being delivered at:
Charlton Farm Children’s Hospice outside Bristol on October 12th, 9-4pm
Little Harbour Children’s Hospice, St Austell on October 19th, 9-4pm
The same programme will be delivered on both days but in 2 different locations to enable staff to attend.
The day is aimed at Band 5 & 6 nurses with an interest in palliative care, but is also open to other staff who would like to enhance their knowledge of this area of neonatal care to support with care delivery in their service.
The programme will include a tour of the hospice and sessions on:
Communication and how collaborative working can support this
Symptom management
Uncertainty and parallel planning within ethical frameworks
Sibling support
Memory making & bereavement support
Wellbeing support for our colleagues and ourselves
As places are limited on each day, we suggest up to 4 from each NICU, 3 from each LNU and 2 from each SCU & SoNAR. Any remaining places will be allocated as fairly as possible.
