Following some remodelling of our workforce, we have an exciting opportunities for band 6 nurses to join our collaborative, enthusiastic and passionate team in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St Michaels Hospital.
Our NICU is a tertiary unit for the population of the South West Neonatal Operational Delivery Networks (ODN) and consists of a total of 31 cots including 15 intensive care cots, 8 high dependency cots and 8 special care cots. The unit also helps support our 16 cot Transitional Care Ward.
The unit provides care for sick newborn infants with a wide variety of medical, surgical and cardiac conditions.

Band 6 Neonatal Sister/Charge Nurse
We are looking for a passionate, dynamic, and well organised new member of our team who wants to make a difference. You will join our team to provide high levels of compassionate nursing care to babies and their families and join us in our development forwards.
Our Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) is a busy Level 1 unit providing 10 cots in total. Comprising of 2 HDU cots and 4 Special Care cots, and a newly established 4 bedded Transitional Care department. We provide gold standard care to babies and their families from 32 weeks gestation, but also provide stabilisation for babies born before this gestation, or critically ill term neonates prior to retrieval by the Peninsula Neonatal Transport Team.

Band 7 Clinical Quality and Safety Lead Nurse (Neonatal)
A critical role in the co-ordination of safety within Neonatal services focussing on the risk and governance activities which demonstrate high quality, effective clinical care which places safety and a positive patient experience at the centre of their neonatal service experience. The post holder will provide professional leadership and managerial advice and support to all staff and manage neonatal adverse incident reporting systems working closely with the Maternity Quality and Safety team and the Trust Risk Management Department.
