Staff inter-unit visiting

Clinical staff visiting and learning in other neonatal units has wide ranging benefits, for the visiting staff and their base unit as well as the hosting unit, as practice sharing flows in both directions.

Hands-on experience outside of your employing Trust currently requires the establishment of honorary contracts. A new NHS Digital Staff Passport has the potential to reduce the need for honorary contracts. Each Trust can decide whether to participate in the passport. Click here for more information, or speak to your Trust.

Observational visits can provide excellent mutual learning opportunities for senior staff, without the need for honorary contracts. The network is now facilitating the scheduling of these visits for Consultant colleagues - please follow the links below to book a visit! We are exploring the use of this system to support other staff groups seeking observation-only visits.
