SoNAR North and South

Process for arranging placements: -

If you are currently employed by one of the region’s neonatal intensive care units, an honorary contract is not required, your contract of employment enables placement booking with SoNAR as follows:

Derriford employees = SoNAR South

Southmead & St Michael’s employees = SoNAR North

If currently employed by a local neonatal unit or special care unit, please use the flow diagram below to identify how to access this placement opportunity:

*Please let the recruitment team (HR) know that you intend to undertake a SoNAR placement in addition to your NICU placement when completing your honorary contract application.

A maximum of 2 shifts can be booked.

Please be aware that SoNAR placements do not guarantee intensive care experiences and are in addition to the 150 hours of supernumerary time. This additional learning opportunity must be negotiated with unit managers before booking.
