The neonatal unit might feel like an alien environment to you when you first arrive. There might be lots of sounds and smells that you haven’t experienced before. It might feel really busy, or really peaceful. You might meet lots of different people even in one day, which you may not see again for a few days. We understand this might be overwhelming. Understanding the different professionals roles on the unit and how they support you and your baby might be a lot to remember when you first arrive. We have gathered some letters from a few neonatal team members that you might meet during your baby’s stay. They have shared what a day on the unit might look like for them, no two days are ever the same for your neonatal teams, but this overview might help to explore a little more of what the individuals do.
