    Approx.  £6.00 for up to 6 hours. Once mother is discharged from hospital and baby still on unit, a parking permit provided.

  • Refreshment Facilities

    Costa Coffee Shops: Level 1, Brunel building. There are 2 Costa Coffee Shops, open Monday to Friday 7am-8.30pm and weekends & bank holidays 8am-8.30pm.

    The League of Friends Coffee Shop: Level 1, near Gate 36, Brunel building. Open Monday to Thursday 10am-7pm, Friday 10am to 5pm and weekends 2pm-5pm.

    Vending machine: Emergency Department, Gate 35, Level 0 offers drinks, snacks and sandwiches.

    Parent’s sitting room on the unit has a microwave and tea and coffee facilities.

  • General Amenities

    Amigo shop: Level 1, Brunel building. Open Monday to Friday 7am-8.30pm and weekends & bank holidays 8am-8.30pm. Offers sandwiches, snacks, drinks, sweets, stationery and essentials.

    Cashpoints: are located at Level 1, Brunel building, opposite Pharmacy.

    Pharmacy: is located at Gate 12, Level 1, Brunel building, now sell a small range of commonly used medicines over the counter.

    Wheelchairs: There are wheelchairs in the main entrance. A pound coin is needed to use a wheelchair - this is refunded when the chair is returned

  • Religious and Spiritual Support

    The Chaplaincy Team consists of chaplains from the main Christian denominations, supported by a team of trained volunteers. We also welcome representatives and leaders of other faiths into the hospital to support patients, relatives and staff. If you would like a hospital chaplain to visit, please inform the nurse or contact us.

    Everyone is welcome to visit The Sanctuary located at Level 1, Gate 30, Brunel building, Southmead Hospital Bristol. It is a place for people of any or no faith. You can also ask your own pastor, minister, priest or other religious or spiritual leader to contact us on your behalf.

  • Parent and Family Liaison Services

  • Interpreting Services

    Interpreting Service: Includes 24 hour access to over 200 community languages via the telephone. Patient choice e.g. gender of interpreter, wider range of languages. Local communities providing some services e.g working with local Deaf Community to provide an out of hours service for British Sign Language. Community language interpreters who have achieved a nationally accredited qualification. Please ask a member of staff on the unit or call PALS on 0117 414 4569 for further details
